Before I go into talking about what I did for my final project I just want to thank Dr. Zaretsky for being so understanding during these tough times. My final project idea was creating a montage of moments of me to try and create a documentary of my times at Marist College. The reasoning behind it is pretty simple, being a senior at Marist, I have experienced so many great moments with my friends and since my time got cut short, I wanted to create something that would show how much fun I had at Marist.
Furthermore, I geared these moments to be more sports related simply because I wanted to make into a sport documentary. To make it more suspenseful, I added audio from different sport documentaries and manage to go along with my video. The hard part was matching the audio with the video and make them align together. However, through some editing I believe I managed to create the perfect video for this class.
In the first clip, the audio says, “What if I told you he wasn`t the greatest”. For that clip I tried to find something that would make me seem as if I was the “the greatest” so I managed to find a clip of me making a full court basketball shot. This would add suspense to the view to see why he wasn’t considered the greatest.
In the second clip, the audio says, “That a country would fail to protect its greatest natural resource” For this clip I tried to find a happy moment where I was going crazy. I ended up finding the perfect clip of me and my friend playing a game and winning it together. I thought this went perfect with the clip.
In the third clip, the audio says, “That sometimes it is a matter of life or death”. For this clip I was trying to find something that would depict like a war going on, and I managed to find me and my friends having a tug of war battle. Being that tug of war is very intense I thought it fit well with the audio clip.
In the fourth clip, the audio says, “That no one can outrun the truth”. I tried to find something where it would be “running away”. The clip that I managed to put along this audio clip was me trying to get away from my friend who is about to tackle me to the ground. In a way I was trying to outrun the truth. Where the truth is that I am going to be caught regardless.
In the fifth clip, the audio says, “What if I told you he was the only true cubs’ fan”. This clip was actually one of the hardest ones for me to find. Although it does not go well with the audio, I put together a video of me dancing outside while wearing a baseball sweatshirt.
In the sixth clip, the audio says, “that you could heal all wound with a fight song”. For this clip I managed to find a video of me pretending to sing and use a guitar, so I thought it goes well with the whole “fight song” idea.
In the seventh clip, the audio says, “that the man no one can stop, tragically was”. For this one I got creative and used two video clips. The first clip is off me falling down from skiing dramatically, and then it quickly cuts to the second clip of me walking on crutches after I tore my acl”
And lastly, the eighth clip, the audio says, “what if I told you running a marathon is easy “I used of clip of me running and dunking the ball as a way to symbolize me running and making the basket. I really enjoyed this project so I hope you do too!
